  • Crunchy foods such as partially popped popcorn kernels, pretzels, ice, hard cookies, and chips.

  • Chewy foods like licorice and bagels.
  • Hard foods like a pizza crust, candy, whole carrots, taco shells, and nuts.
  • Avoid chewing on pencils, pens, fingernails, and ice because they can all damage your braces or prolong your treatment.

Additionally, it is suggested that you avoid biting into hard foods with your front teeth. It will be better if you consider cutting up hard foods like raw vegetables, croutons, meat on the bone, corn on the cob, carrots, apples, French or Italian bread, and pizza crust.
